RF microneedling – firmer skin and smoother texture

When skin loses elasticity or acne scars and uneven texture are a concern, RF microneedling offers a deeper approach than conventional microneedling. At Kuulas, Recell Ice combines microneedling, radiofrequency energy and cooling to improve comfort during treatment.

Who is the treatment suitable for?

The treatment is particularly suited to plans addressing skin firmness, fine lines, enlarged pores and acne scars. In addition to the face, we can treat the neck and décolletage as needed. A separate treatment option is available for the eye area.

Your skin's starting condition determines whether RF microneedling is the right choice. Active inflammation is treated first, and scars are assessed by type and depth. The aim is to improve the quality of your own skin.

Microneedling and thermal energy in one treatment

Recell Ice, developed by South Korean manufacturer Eunsung, uses fine needles to deliver radiofrequency energy to a selected depth in the tissue. Controlled heating and microneedling stimulate the skin's repair response and support collagen remodelling.

Suction helps position the skin against the handpiece. Cooling complements treatment and may ease the sensation. Energy and treatment depth are selected according to the area and your skin's condition.

What happens during your visit

Before treatment, we discuss your wishes, skin condition, medications and previous procedures. The skin is cleansed and treated one area at a time. We explain each step and monitor your skin's response throughout.

RF microneedling feels like brief pinches and warmth. Sensations vary by area. At the end of your visit, you receive guidance on soothing your skin, home care and the timing of your next appointment.

Cellmula exosomes with RF microneedling

Cellmula EXO Solution complements RF microneedling. It is particularly suited to dry, dull skin and skin showing signs of ageing. The formula hydrates and soothes while supporting skin renewal and elasticity.

Results and client experiences

Your skin may look more even once it has recovered, but collagen remodelling continues over weeks and months. Results are assessed only after the skin has settled.

We often plan a course of several appointments. A usual starting point is 3–5 treatments, but the number and interval are agreed according to your skin and treatment intensity. Acne scars may require longer-term care.

Skincare and recovery

Redness, warmth, swelling and small pinpoint marks are possible afterwards. Treat the skin gently and moisturise according to the instructions. Do not wear make-up on the day of treatment.

Protect your skin from the sun with SPF 50. Avoid saunas, swimming and heavy sweating for the first week, and exfoliating or irritating products until the skin has recovered. Do not pick small scabs or flaking skin.

Frequently asked questions · RF microneedling

Both involve controlled microneedling. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency thermal energy targeted into the tissue. The method is selected according to your skin's needs; a more intensive treatment is not automatically better for every skin.

At Kuulas, the options are the face and eye area, with neck and décolletage as add-ons. We agree on the treatment boundaries beforehand.

It may be suitable for acne scars and uneven skin. Active inflammatory acne and the type of individual scars are assessed first.

Treatment feels like pinching and warmth. Cooling may ease the sensation, but we cannot promise a painless treatment. Tell us how it feels throughout.

Skin renewal continues over weeks and months. We assess results at the agreed follow-up, rather than from immediate post-treatment swelling.

A course of 3–5 visits is often the starting point. The final number and intervals depend on your goal, skin condition and recovery.

You can usually return to light work if your skin's response and working conditions allow. Your skin may be red and swollen. If your work involves heat, heavy sweating or dirt, discuss your return with the therapist.

Treatment is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or on actively inflamed or damaged skin. A pacemaker, electronic implants, certain conditions and medications may prevent treatment. Suitability is always assessed individually.

Combinations and intervals are planned separately. Tell us about recent injectable, laser, light-based and peel treatments before booking.

Contact Kuulas if pain or redness worsens, blisters develop or there are signs of infection. A severe or worsening symptom requires assessment by a healthcare professional.
