Treatment can be used to smooth skin texture and address fine lines and acne scars. Uneven tone can also be assessed. Suitability depends on the cause of the concern and your skin's current condition. We examine the skin and discuss realistic goals before treatment.

Microneedling may feel like tingling, scratching or pain. Sensitivity varies by client and treatment area. Tell us how it feels during treatment so we can make adjustments.

In the online store, you can choose face microneedling, face and neck, or face, neck and décolletage. Scalp microneedling is a separate service or an add-on to a facial treatment. If you would like another area treated, such as the hands, please check the appropriate booking with us beforehand.

The appointment length depends on the treatment areas and any add-ons. The exact duration is shown in the booking system. Your visit includes skin assessment, cleansing, microneedling, soothing finishing care and home care instructions.

Your skin may look more radiant once it has recovered, but renewal continues for longer. Changes in firmness or scars are assessed gradually, not from the redness or swelling immediately after treatment. Results vary individually, and a specific outcome cannot be promised.

We plan the number of visits and intervals according to your skin's starting point, recovery and your goal. Scar treatment, for example, may require several sessions. The skin is given time to recover before the next session, and the plan is refined according to the response.

Tell us beforehand about skin conditions, herpes, medications and recent peels, device-based or injectable treatments. Do not attend with sunburnt or inflamed skin. Any pause in strong home skincare products is agreed according to your skin. We remove make-up at the start. Do not change your medication on your own.

Active skin infection, herpes or broken skin may prevent treatment in that area. Also tell us about pregnancy and breastfeeding, abnormal scarring, diabetes, autoimmune conditions and factors affecting blood clotting. Isotretinoin and blood-thinning medication, for example, must be considered. Suitability and any need for a doctor's assessment are decided individually.

Acne scars and actively inflamed acne are different situations. Inflamed skin may need to settle before microneedling. We assess your skin and select treatment according to its current condition. If your skin is very inflamed, contact us before booking microneedling.

Redness and a sunburn-like sensation may last around 36–48 hours. Dryness, flaking or mild itching may continue afterwards. Recovery varies with the treatment and your skin. Contact us if symptoms worsen, persist or concern you.

Returning to work depends on your skin's response and working conditions. Visible redness may last a couple of days, so avoid scheduling treatment just before an important event or photoshoot. Discuss work involving heat, sweating or dirty environments with us beforehand.

Avoid exercise that causes sweating, saunas, swimming, hot showers and baths for at least two days. Also avoid sunbathing and sunbeds. A combination treatment, such as an Uber peel, may require a longer break. Always follow the instructions for your particular treatment.

Use gentle products suited to the post-treatment stage and sunscreen recommended by your therapist. For five days, avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide and products with a high alcohol content, unless you have been advised to take a longer break. Do not rub the skin or pick at flaking.

You will receive instructions on returning to regular make-up according to your skin and treatment. Any tinted protection used immediately afterwards is a product specifically intended for aftercare and approved by your therapist. This does not mean that all make-up is suitable for freshly microneedled skin.

An Uber peel is an optional add-on whose suitability is assessed before treatment. The combination may change aftercare instructions and extend recovery. Other active-product and combination treatments are also planned separately; they are not all included in the standard Dermapen price.

Tell us the name and date of your previous treatment and the area treated. The order and interval depend on the method, product and skin recovery. There is no single waiting period for all combinations.
