Ensure that the product contains a sufficient amount of animal-derived hydrolyzed collagen. If the collagen is produced from fish, a 2-4 times larger dose is required compared to collagen made from pig or cow skin. Study II3 – Pain sensation was statistically significantly reduced
A double-blind study conducted by Penn State University in the United States involved 147 physically active individuals suffering from joint problems. The group was divided into two, one group used hydrolyzed collagen for 24 weeks, and the other group served as a control group. After the study, participants assessed changes in pain sensation compared to the baseline. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in reduced pain sensation measured by six different parameters in the group using hydrolyzed collagen compared to the control group.
Study III4 – Cartilage tissue formation improved statistically significantly
A double-blind study conducted by Tufts Medical Center and Harvard University in the United States involved 30 participants. Participants were divided into two groups, one using a collagen peptide product and the other serving as a control group. The knee cartilage of the study participants was MRI scanned at the beginning, after 24 weeks, and after 48 weeks. The results showed a statistically significant improvement in cartilage tissue formation in the collagen peptide group compared to the control group.
