Who is the treatment suitable for?

SkinPen may be suitable when the aim is more even texture, softer fine lines or an improved appearance of acne scars. The treatment uses the skin's natural renewal response and collagen formation.

SkinPen treats facial acne scars in adults aged 22 and over. Aesthetic uses also include fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores and uneven skin colour. Suitability is always assessed individually.

Precise treatment and a single-use cartridge

SkinPen Precision Elite creates controlled microchannels in the skin. Treatment depth is selected according to the area and skin thickness. The aim is to trigger a repair response through which the skin's structure gradually renews.

A sterile, single-use needle cartridge and protective device sheath are used at every appointment. Lift HG, part of the method, helps the handpiece glide and prevents the skin from drying out. At Kuulas, we also use the SkinPen microneedling device in Tience treatments as part of our treatment protocol.

What happens during your visit

We discuss your skin, goals, medications and previous treatments. The skin is cleansed and the planned areas are treated. We explain each stage and adjust the treatment according to the skin's response and the area.

You can feel microneedling on the skin, and some areas are more sensitive than others. At the end of your visit, you receive a post-treatment product and detailed home care instructions. The next appointment is scheduled to allow recovery.

SkinPen Precision Elite – prices

Face €279, face and neck €290, and face, neck and décolletage €320. Three-visit courses for the corresponding areas are €729, €779 and €849. The course is completed within three months of the first treatment.

Results and client experiences

Skin tone and texture may look more even once the skin has recovered. Collagen remodelling and changes in scars, however, develop gradually over weeks and months.

Kuulas SkinPen courses include three treatments within three months of the first visit. Appointments are at least four weeks apart to allow recovery. More complex scars and other skin concerns may require a longer plan.

SkinPen Elite microneedling – face, neck and décolletage

I have been having Dermapen microneedling for a few years. This time, my microneedling was carried out with SkinPen. The treatment includes microneedling and a home care product to use for up to 48 hours afterwards. The session took slightly longer, but the needling was more targeted (= more precise) than with Dermapen. It felt stronger in places, but not too uncomfortable.

My skin has always reacted quite strongly to Dermapen, and it did so this time with SkinPen too. However, the redness and heat subsided overnight, and the following day I was out and about as usual. Now, a week after treatment, my skin tone is even and beautiful.

Maintenance and consistency are key with microneedling, which makes it difficult to assess the effect of a single treatment. Perhaps my teenager's comment while looking at photos from nine years ago says something about regular microneedling: "Mum, you still look exactly the same!" So once again, warm thanks to Venla! <3

Skincare and recovery

For the first 24 hours, use only the Lift product provided with your treatment, as instructed. Do not use other products, make-up or cleanser; if needed, rinse with cool water. Avoid the sun completely on the day of treatment.

You can resume sunscreen after 24 hours. Minimise sun exposure and avoid strenuous exercise and heavy sweating for 72 hours. Pause retinoids, vitamin C and other strong active ingredients for the first week.

Redness, heat, tightness and dryness are possible. Contact us if symptoms worsen or signs of infection appear. Post-treatment skincare is an important part of safe recovery.

Treatment is not performed in situations including pregnancy and breastfeeding, active skin cancer in the treatment area, open wounds or irritated skin, allergy to stainless steel or anaesthetic agents, blood clotting disorders and current isotretinoin medication. Other conditions and medications are assessed separately.

No. SkinPen is not intended to deliver cosmetics, medicines or biological products into the skin. During and immediately after treatment, we follow the device manufacturer's product and aftercare instructions.
